The Three Brutal Truths You Need To Understand
If You Are Ever Going To Get Into The School of Your Dreams:
The Costs for Tuition and Living are very expensive. You will need to have enough money to pay for school and to pay for housing, food, and transportation.
Take the time to educate yourself in personal finance so you can survive and pay your bills. Your first priority will be to find a way to generate income for yourself. A part time job is a must so you can have money in your pocket to enjoy life and pay for your books, tuition, and living expenses. The best part time job is one that fits your school schedule and allows you to study. One possibility is to check with security companies for evening positions in quiet areas. These jobs often afford you some time to study. Security jobs are easy to get and are relatively safe. If you have computer skills especially web design and internet programming you can find lots of work at companies and ample freelance work as well. If you can get one, a flexible entry level job in your chosen field of study will be great for your resume down the road.
The Competition to attend the top schools is fierce. You must present yourself to standout through your accomplishments and academics.
Set your goals and make detailed plans to achieve them. You can be, do, or have anything you set your mind to. Write down your goals and write down your plans to achieve your goals. Look at these goals and plans every day so you are reminded where you need to focus your power of concentration. With your goals burned deeply into your mind resolve to be the absolute best you can be at everything that you do. You should be shooting for straight As in all your course work. Speak to your teachers at the begining of each semester and get in writing exactly what you need to do to get an A in that class. Take good notes and complete your reading each and every night. Take notes from your reading and carry your notes with you so that you can review them often. Sign up for tutors in any subjects that you are having difficulty in. Use the resources that your school provides. Join any study groups that are forming and network with the other students in your classes. Always try to make at least one friend in each of your classes. The friends you make should be serious students and doing well in the class. Try not to get mixed up with the wrong crowd and go off track.
Education alone will not guarantee success. You have to apply the law of attraction, goal setting, and networking to be a success.
Receiving your college degree does not guarantee success. But if you follow these tried and true success principles you will succeed. First decide on what it is that you want out of your life. Write down short and long term goals in each of your major life categories. You should have financial goals, goals for your personal life, physical fitness goals, material goals, etc. For each of these categories write down 1, 3, 5, and 10 year goals. For each of these goals write a paragraph on why these goals are important to you. Then create detailed plans to achieve each goal. Simply going through the process of putting your goals on paper can do a lot to help achieve them.
