Customer Review: This is the sort of book from which one doesn't know exactly what to expect. It's clear from the clever cover and layout that author Rich Wolfe approached the project with a wry sense of humor. Where many of the more slickly-produced coffee table books on Notre Dame feature color photographs and re-hash the events of some of the most memorable Fighting Irish games, this item provides multiple perspectives from alumni, fans, former players, media personalities, and even a rival or two. The are amusing anecdotes such as Michigan quarterback Tom Brady sneaking into Notre Dame Stadium on the night before a game only to find himself locked in. Another fascinating story involves a behind-the-scenes account of the first night game at Notre Dame. It's a breeze of a read and certainly worth the reasonable price. Perfect for a plane ride or next to the bed...where a bible should be.

Customer Review: Chip Hilton scores big in Freshman Quarterback. Some of the problems he faces are as relevent today as they were in the original writings. The updates are great and still don't detract from the quality and message Clair Bee originally intended. I wish I could be on Chip's team, just like I wanted to when I first read the series in the early 60's! Great Book, Great Series! Thanks for bringing them back!

Customer Review: My the program is the most self-righteous program in all of college football trying to show the country morals (that it doesnt even have)...
Lets see how bad Weis has been with his players (2007)... the only time he won was with... drumroll please... Willingham's players... Brady Quinn that stringbean receiver and the like... it is amazing how everyone likes to blame Willingham for "poor recruiting" for last season's disaster (actually more a sign of notre lame's true colors) but without Willingham's recruiting the 3 and whatever record would have happened the previous two seasons as well...
notre dame football fans tend to not have any real sense of football knowledge as well as their horrible sense of entitlement which is not deserved...
rise to glory??? more like settling into mediocracy...

Customer Review: Overall I've give this book a fair rating.
I've seen most of the most famous and biggest college football stadiums. In about 85% of them I've been able to walk out to the fifty yard line mid field and look around at the stadium. Stadiums are usually open nearly every day of the year. Probably the nicest and most interesting that I've seen are Notre Dame Stadium & the Rose Bowl. I was surprised at how many stadiums that one wouldn't suspect being the nicest or greatest were included (Army, Navy, Air Force) in this book, while Rice's & Boston College's were not and Michigan State's was one of those allowed only a one page review. The book also omits Baylor's and Texas Tech's stadiums. In my mine all football stadiums are bland compared to baseball parks.
There is a small section which includes stadiums no longer around: Syracuse, Minnesota (seen that one), and a few others.
I did enjoy the history of the expansion of the stadiums.

Customer Review: "Through the Eyes of a Champion" is a must read for all who were fortunate enough to watch Burls play football. It is such an inspiring biography, though, that it is a wonderful book for anyone to read. I was barely able to put the book down once I started reading it, and I finished reading it in a couple of days. Just be sure you have a box of tissues handy if you are the least bit prone to tears.
Like Brandon, one of my sons will be an invited walk on to the Razorback football team this fall. If he works 75% as hard and accomplishes half as much, I will be the proudest Mom in the world! The book clearly demonstrates how far a person can go with the right attitude, total commitment and the hard work it takes to accomplish your goal.
The world, and especially the state of Arkansas, are better because of this young man who set a an impressive example that each of us can aspire to follow.

Customer Review: Don't waste your time. There are three different books with the same photo by different publishers. They are all ripoffs. Try Chris Warner's "A Tailgater's Guide To SEC Football". It's much better than this filler book.
