Myspace Music/?????: http://www.myspace.com/hmcrecluse Chen-Hui Jen (1981-) Born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, 1981, Chen-Hui Jen initiated her piano training at age of four. Since the second year in the music class of Kaohsiung Senior High School (1996~1999), she studied composition as major with Prof. Tzyy-Sheng Lee until graduated from Music Department of National Sun Yet-San University (1999~2003). She was enrolled as a composition student in The Graduate School of Music, College of Music, Taipei National University of the Arts and got master degree in summer, 2005, under the instruction of Prof. Hwang-Long Pan. Since 2004, she joined as a member of ACL --Taiwan (The Asian Composers' League National Committee) and ISCM Taiwan section. Jen was selected as a member of National Taiwan Young Composer's Project (Mar. ~ Aug., 2003) and was awarded in 3 different categories of Literature and Fine Arts Composition Competition in 2004. In November 2004, she was alsoawarded by China Found Music Workshop. When studying in TNUA, she won Kuan-Du Arts Festival Competition 2004 and was awarded scholarship in 2005. Her violin concerto "The Mind of Crescent Moon" won the second prize of Formosa Composition Competition, and was premiered in March, 2005. The concerto was also chosen to be performed in ISCM World New Music Festival 2006 by Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart des SWR in July, 2006. In December, her work "The Spectrum of an Ancient Soul" for seven Chinese instruments won the third prize in Ethinic Music Instruments Category of Tsang-Houei Hsu International Music Composition Award. In 2006, Jen obtained the scholarship by Ministry of Education and went to USA the next year.
