A Cincinnati woman was shot in the neck by a random act of violence. The mother of four was on her way to work overtime at her job to help get her children school supplies. Walmart stepped up and gave her a $1,000 shopping spree.

Free Radicals perform live for Breakdancers at Benefit Show

"We Give A Jam" is a one of a kind breakdancing competition and community outreach fundraiser. Once a year the RNS Community Outreach Program sponsors a Houston inner-city school to hold a breakdancing competition. Breakdancers from around Texas come to compete for prize money and spectators from the school and community have the opportunity to watch people using the arts to excel. People wishing to compete or attend will be asked to bring school supplies to be donated to the sponsored school. In 2008, the event was held at Gallegos Elementary and featured Free Radicals providing live breakdance style music.

Understanding math, like being proficient at reading and writing, is one of those practical skills that make life so much easier.
Using this incremental method of learning made homeschooling through high school a breeze and our college-age children sailed through their college math courses as well. In hindsight, it would be easy to choose it again.

Customer Review: I acquired this book through ashworth university's high school correspondence program. I was extremely unhappy with the school itself (and I would be more than happy to elaborate if you wish to contact me) but even the textbook was a disappointment. For one thing, it's WAY too much to cover in one school year. Either focus on the literature aspect or the language arts aspect but trying to cram all of into one means neither one gets taught efficiently. The language arts section is in the back as reference material but is not really covered enough to teach. There is also a CD-Rom that came with the book that is basically useless so don't let that persuade you to buy it.
